SB19 has once again accomplished a major milestone in Filipino music history by being the first ever artists from the Philippines to be featured on Japan’s THE FIRST TAKE! “THE FIRST TAKE is a YouTube Channel dedicated to filming musicians and singers performing in a single take,” according to it’s own description.
SB19 known to be vocal powerhouses made A’TIN proud by performing a new version of ‘GENTO’ that showcased each members unique and powerful vocals. ‘GENTO’ which sparked a global dance trend since it’s release has achieved explosive popularity in Japan among artists and fans alike. Along with the performance, the boys were interviewed about their history and plans as a group.
SB19 who started from humble beginnings and honed their skills as rookies through self teaching was once asked how they would be able promote Filipino music considering they were the first P-Pop group. They stated that their intention was to introduce Filipino music to the world.
In April, they performed for excited A’TIN in Japan as part of the Asia leg of their PAGTATAG World Tour. Their performance on the THE FIRST TAKE is yet another major step towards their goals.
Trending simultaneously in the Philippines, Japan and worldwide after their performance was released, they received high praise for their vocal abilities from A”TIN, Japanese fans, the media and casuals and was also featured on Billboard Japan. At the same time, FELIP’s first full album ‘7sins’ began preorders in Japan and achieved the number one spot on ‘CD Japan’!
July 1st, 2024 became an unofficial holiday for A’TIN all over the world as SB19 was put front in center breaking new ground for filipino artists.
